The expected impacts of HIBISCUS are in line with the CBE-JU roadmap: the SIRA. HIBISCUS and all its partners will actively contribute to the structuration of a sustainable bioeconomy value chain in Europe.

  • Advancing bio-based material science with 200 publications, 10 impacted industries, 5 academic programs and 10 collaborations by 2035
  • Training 500 students and creating 20 jobs in the construction sector through cross-disciplinary cooperation.
  • Creating 200 jobs across 5 sectors and generating €50 million annual returns by 2039.
  • Reducing production and maintenance costs by 25% and resource use by 15% through 50+ validated LCAs.
  • Boosting 3 EU regions and 10 supply chains for a total of €120 million local growth.
  • Strengthening Europe’s leadership with +25% exports and +70% EU market share in bio-based materials.
