HIBISCUS will develop a European value chain for bio-based construction materials, focusing on waterproofing, insulation, and carpentry. The project will use different feedstocks, respecting the food first and cascading uses principle to build the proposed solutions and make them comply with SSbD principles.
Demonstrate the techno-economic

Develop durable, circular, mold and fire-resistant building envelope solutions
Test and validate solutions through at least 2 real-life building demonstrations
Ensure industry scalability and transition from fossil-based materials
Design specific testing protocols for novel bio-based construction products
Increase awareness and acceptance across the value chain
